Another trip back to Stockholm meant another sightseeing experience. This time around we decided to escape the hustle and bustle of the historical centre, yet be close enough to dip in and out when we wanted, and try out the Södermalm neighborhood, ode to hipsters and creatives. It certainly worked for us. Found on Götgatan, the Scandic Malmen was our home for a few days and felt like a really good hotel choice.
Scandic Malmen might not have the fancy frills we love in boutique hotels; still, the design touches in the lobby and the many welcoming spots to curl up with a good guide-book won us over. The room was sleek and elegant, with lots of greys and blues, an incredibly comfortable mattress and a working desk. Breakfast was included with the room too, and hit the spot every single time. Just the perfect thing before heading out for a big day of sight seeing. And after another exhausting day spent between
galleries & concept-stores, we loved coming back to the hotel for a drink and relax a bit before Fashion Week would start. All in all, regardless of your plans, staying at Scandic Malmen will make your stay complete. It’s not just accommodating, but you’re guaranteed to experience the best of Stockholm’s hipster scene, just a few blocks away. This also means the search for the perfect Södermalm hotel is officially, over.
